Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect from a consultation?

I offer a free 15 minute consultation, both virtually and in person. This is not a counseling session, but rather an opportunity to connect and see if we are a good fit. In this meeting, I will ask you about what is bringing you to counseling and what you are hoping to get from it. In turn, I will share with you about my style of counseling and how counseling with me may look. It gives you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have about counseling in general or about me. We can also discuss fees, scheduling, and any other necessary logistics.

Do you take insurance?

Unfortunately, I am unable to take insurance or provide superbills at this time.

Where are you located?

My office is located at 631 West Iris Drive in the Berry Hill neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee.

How much does therapy cost?

A standard 50-minute session costs $130. 75 minute sessions (used for family therapy or EMDR processing) are $180. I offer reduced rates by request according to availabilty. I do not accept insurance, but I do accept FSA or HSA cards.

Can you see clients out of the state of Tennessee?

Unfortunately, I am only able to see clients while they are physically located in the state of Tennessee.

    How long will therapy take?

It really depends! Everybody’s journey is different. Sometimes, I see people for a few months and sometimes for a few years! We will talk about your goals and expectations for therapy and continually check in about the progress you are making to make sure it is meeting your needs.

    Do you offer telehealth sessions?

Yes! I offer both telehealth and in-person sessions.

What can I expect for the first session?

There is free parking in the back of the building. The waiting area is right when you walk in the front door. I will meet you there at our session time. I spend the first session trying to gather as much information about you as possible. I do this to set us up to be able to jump into the work as quickly as possible. We will review my practice policies. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, your family system, relative life events, your strengths, and your hope for counseling.
